What companies build the body of the plane?

-The fuselages for Boeing 707/727/737 aircraft are made in Wichita, KS and delivered by rail to the the Boeing factory in Seattle by rail. Hence the oval shape of the fuselages, to make them fit on the rail cars. Boeing sold the Wichita factory making the major fuselage assemblies to Spirit AeroSystems in 2005.

Spirit also builds cockpit sections of all current Boeing aircraft and fuselage sections for the 787 and will build fuselage sections and wing spars for the A-350.

Airbus builds sections of the fuselages for its current aircraft at its own facilities in France, Germany, and Spain. The wings are built in the UK. It uses a fleet specially modified A-300T Beluga aircraft to ferry the sections to the assembly lines in Toulouse, Hamburg, and Tianjin, China. Airbus uses ships to transport sections of the A-380 to Toulouse for assembly.Lots of different companies.

For example, Fuji Heavy Industries and Turkish Aerospace Industries build the fuselage sections for the 'American' Boeing 777.

Goodrich Aerostructures out of San Diego CA supply some fuselage components for the 'European' A380.
Lots of different companies. Often times, the fuselage is not built by the company whose name is on the airplane (i.e. it's not Boeing or Airbus).
BeechCraft, Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, Lear....
