What headset would you recommend?

-I'm a student pilot and need to buy my own headset so is there any headset that you would/ wouldn't recommend? I don't want a poor quality headset and am looking for something decent. I'm not counting on being a professional pilot or anything anytime soon so I really don't need anything on the fancy end of the spectrum. Thanks for your advice!David Clark H10-13.4! This is a great headset especially for students. I used this headset for private, instrument, commercial, and multi and am currently using it for CFI/CFII. It still looks brand new despite heavy use and works like brand new too! I've never had a single problem with it, and everyone I know that has used David Clarks has been just as happy with them. I've even known people who bought cheaper ones and ended up throwing them out because they caused headaches or stopped working; they later bought David Clarks. They usually come with a 5 year warranty also, though I doubt you will use it. If you wanted to spend a little more money, there's some noise canceling headsets out there that are even better, but usually priced 700-1000 dollars, so for a student I would recommend the David Clarks. Theres a link below for this exact headset its currently priced $289.95 however, if you find them cheaper somewhere else they will price match them. They did for me about 4 years ago! Hope that helps! Fly safe! The best aviation brand, is the David Clark -

That would be for a noisy cockpit environment -

I never had one, but I know they are good -

I was an airline pilot, I always had a Plantronics MS-50 -

That is for 40 years of my airline career...

Little thing so light, you do forget it is plugged into your ear -

If you get one, you will never want another kind -

I still fly Piper L-21 airplanes nowadays, noisy as hell -

But I don't use a radio much, and I blast my ears with the loudspeaker -

So no earphones... I am an old fart anyway -
I used the David Clark H20-10s for my flight training and early career. Bulky but really good passive attenuation.

Now I use the Lightspeed Zulu. Night and day difference, but a bit pricey.
