What is the difference between (2a731)aircraft metals technology and (2a733)aircraft strucural maintenance?

-These jobs are in refrence to the air force. I've read their description online n they seem the same. Also I would like to get these jobs in boot camp any tips?Metals tech (machine shop) makes parts, repairs parts (i.e. Threaded inserts), heat treat, drill parts according to drawings or to match the aircraft. Much of their work is indoors.



Structural maintenance (sheet metal) is hands on aircraft repair of skin and structures, such as replacing skin, replacing rivets, treating corrosion, painting, etc.



No welding is done on the aircraft, so metals tech handles all of that. Go for metals tech if you can get it.
