-I wanna be a pilot. I just wanted to know, how is the aviation industry doing. Is there a lot of demand for pilots? What are the chances of me getting a job as a commercial pilot, if I have more than enough flying hours, experience, and everything I need?Aviation industry - it could be better... unfortunately -
No. America and Europe, not too good - the worst is USA -
The flight schools are chain productions of pilots -
Despite prices beyond reasonable limits -
This because of the legend of "making $300,000/year as captain" -
And they are claiming "pilots hiring boom is here" -
The industry cannot absorb that volume...
I hope that for the next generation of pilots things will get better -
Personally, I would not make a career as airline pilot nowadays -
But I would own a flight school, and laugh my way to the bank -
Right now, things are rather good in China and India -
As well as the Middle East, and East Asia, generally -
If I was "future airline captain", I would learn Mandarin, Hindi or Arabic -
That is the place for the better pilot careers -
Provided you like chopsticks, curry, or prayers blasting 5 times a day -^Agreed.
The aviation industry has been better. For airline pilot hire however, in Asia, especially India, pilot demand is high. As for other places it is not that great, but still there are some jobs out there.
There are still steady demands for commercial pilots that are not in the airlines, like instructors and charter flight pilots.
